PARTNER SEARCH FOR CITIZENS EUROPE PROGRAM 2012-2014
"Leisure, Sports and Culture of People in Different Age within Twin City Network"
Project proposal
The initiator and coordinator for the project is the City of Kerava that is a growing and vibrant "small big" city located 30 km north from Helsinki, the capital of Finland.
The purpose of the project is to create and grow concrete and genuine people-centered international collaboration by utilizing and developing the twinning city network. The purpose is to involve the partners' local organizations like sports clubs and twin societies, as well as the citizens of the partner cities or municipalities.
Project activities
The project lasts 2 years, starting in the summer 2012. The activities will include:
- exchanging exhibitions and actors within the culture sector
- events and exchange within the sports sector
- exchange of vocational school students, and youth exchange
- cooperation between schools: primary schools, high-schools and vocational schools
- joint seminars on current relevant topics bringing together municipalities and citizens
- exchange of public servants, development ideas and experiences in cities
- publications on paper and electrically
- permanent networks and forms of collaboration
Funding
Maximum financing for the project is 150.000 €. .
From expenses 30% self-financing (can include tools, salaries, voluntary work, rents, etc. in kind contribution)
Partners
So far we have three partner cities from Estonia, Latvia and Germany. New partner cities / municipalities are welcome in the project. It's no more a "must", that the participating municipalities have an official partnership/friendship contract with each others. The partners can also be an educational institution, foundation, society, or any other third sector organization.
As a new partner candidate would cities/towns/municipalities/organizations from Lithuania, Poland, Denmark, Sweden, Netherlands, Austria and Slovenia have a prioritized position.
Application
Application deadline is already 15/2/2012. The joint application will be drafted together with the present partners in Estonia 18/1-19/1/2012.
