Dear colleagues,
The Association for Lifelong Learning in Rural Areas (AEPMR) would like to submit a project within
the Call for Proposals – Europe for Citizenship Programme, Action 2 - Measure 3: Support for
projects initiated by civil society organizations.
The aim of this measure is to support cooperation on concrete projects of civil society organizations
from different participating countries.
Below you can find a summary of our project idea.
The duration of the project will be of 18 months. Your budget will be of approximately 30 000 Euro.
The grant is 70% and the own contribution is 30%.

Europe for Citizenship Programme, Action 2 - Measure 3: Support for projects initiated
by civil society organizations.
Project Idea
Year 2011 is dedicated to the 100 million citizens of the European Union involved in volunteering
activities and to the ones wanting to join them, who support them and who benefit from their
involvement, energy and enthusiasm.
This project wishes to promote information, raising awareness and debate among young people and
adults in the rural areas with regards to European values, European citizenship and the rights of the
European citizens, in the context created by the Treaty of Lisbon and the economical aspects of Europe
2020 strategy.
Young volunteers from the target group will learn to become the mentors of adults within the raising
awareness activities, offering them useful information for their daily life as citizens of EU, helping them
in the same time to get informed with the help of online tools put at the disposal of European citizens by
the EU.
The main results of the project are a research regarding the information needs of the target group, 18
awareness raising seminars with young people and adults, 3 national conferences, an informative
booklet for the target group, an interactive DVD, the website of the project.
