Project name: RE-Life 2
INTRODUCTION
The project started as a natural evolution of the “Re-Life” project, financed by the Citizenship Programme in 2008 and rewarded with the Golden Stars Awards in 2009 (www.re-life.eu). The experience was realized thanks to the collaboration of 4 European partners, with the object of offering all the citizens and civil society an opportunity to reflect, discuss, debate - both at local and European level - the most crucial topics related to ecology and environment, in order to promote new lifestyles that facilitate social cohesion and sustainable development, paying particular attention to more disadvantaged people. Together with the project, some national workshops about the above-mentioned themes were realised, with the aim of promoting among the citizens an alternative way of conceiving the environment and our life-styles. These national experiences were at the basis of the final workshop, which took place in Vicenza (Italy) in June 2009, when the partners shared the results of their respective paths. The final result was the publication of a manual collecting all the materials and documents produced during the project.
In the evaluation and follow-up phases, some themes in particular were raised. Being 2010 the European Year for Combating Poverty and Social Exclusion, it emerged a common will to realize some activities that can give citizens some concrete answers, and at the same time produce individual and collective advantages. Some examples are: solidarity purchasing groups, community shared agriculture, car-sharing and carpooling to encourage sustainable traffic, bioconstruction etc.
OBJECTIVES
Offering an opportunity of comparison and discussion, with the objective of creating a network and acting on the issues related to environment, social inclusion and civil economy, in order to promote new lifestyles that facilitate social cohesion and sustainable development (e.g. collective purchase).
Besides, the present proposal aims to promote citizens' participation at local level, raising awareness on the importance of their active role in the policies and practices related to social inclusion, both at local and European level.

TARGET GROUP
This proposal is directed to the whole citizenship of the local communities involved. Particular attention will be given to the participation of different generations (children, young adults, aged people) and of more disadvantaged people.
SEARCHED PARTNERS
Civil society organizations (NGOs, No Profit, etc.) that actively engage on environmental and social-economical themes in Europe, in particular towards those with fewer opportunities.
DESCRIPTION OF THE ORGANISATION
The Insieme Cooperative was the winner, together with other three European partners, of the Golden Star Award 2009 Prize on the issue of “Decrease and Sustainable Life-styles”. It is composed by 110 partners, among whom 35 disadvantaged people and 30 volunteers. It collaborates with local governments and the competent social services. It is engaged in waste recycling and reuse, and it administers 4 shops and 8 recycling areas.
